Great neighborhoods are restored and preserved one home and one family at a time. This is accomplished thru the efforts of visionary community organizations like the Builders Association of the Twin Cities, caring and generous companies like Ironwood Carpentry, and dedicated volunteers and non-profit organizations like Rebuilding Together Twin Cities.
Rebuilding Together Twin Cities preserves much-needed affordable housing and helps homeowners and neighborhoods regain a sense of community pride. They do this by coordinating the volunteers, skilled labor, tools and supplies it takes to renovate, revitalize and renew homes and neighborhoods across the Twin Cities.
On the last Saturday of April each year, Rebuilding Together organizes professional contractors and volunteers to help homeowners across the country for National Rebuilding Day. This year, National Rebuilding Day will be held on April 28th. Ironwood Carpentry will lead a team of volunteers on one of the 20 homes being restored in North Minneapolis. We plan to kick-off Rebuilding Day with a volunteer breakfast at Folwell Recreational Center (1615 Dowling Ave N Minneapolis) beginning at 7 am, which will be followed by a brief program highlighting what we plan to accomplish that day. Volunteers will then head out to their project homes to begin work and will spend the day repairing homes for those in need.
